Blood Clean Up
Blood is the one contaminant that looks finished long before it is. A surface can be wiped until nothing is visible while the same incident has already pushed fluid under the baseboard, into the carpet padding and along the seams of the subfloor, where it stays biologically active for days. That is the gap between cleaning and remediation, and the gap Bio Hazard Plus has been closing for more than twenty years.
Â
We take blood clean up calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with a two-hour response time and unmarked vehicles. Our technicians work to OSHA regulations and CDC guidance, use EPA-approved products, and treat the scene as infectious until the readings say otherwise.

Why Blood is Classified AS A Biohazard
Human blood is a carrier for hepatitis B, hepatitis C, HIV and a range of bacterial agents, and several of these remain viable on a dry surface for days. OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen standard treats blood and any material contaminated with it as regulated waste, which is why it is handled by licensed personnel in full personal protective equipment and disposed of through a medical waste stream rather than a dumpster.
Â
The exposure risk is rarely the person who was injured. It is the family member who kneels down to clean up blood the same evening, the landlord who opens a unit, the employee sent in with a mop. The correct first step is to leave the area alone and call someone equipped to enter it.
where a Blood Spill Clean Up Has To Reach
Volume tells you very little. A small quantity on tile can be fully remediated in an hour; the same quantity on carpet can mean lifting the carpet, the padding and part of the subfloor beneath it. Blood follows gravity and capillary action, so it travels under flooring, into wall cavities and into upholstery foam, and none of that is reachable with a topical disinfectant.
Â
We locate the full extent of the contamination before pricing the job, and blood spill remediation begins by defining the real boundary of the affected zone rather than the visible one. Where saturation has occurred, the affected material is cut out and removed.
Our Blood Remediation Services, Step by Step
Assessment and estimate
Every situation is unique, so we start with photographs of the affected areas or an in-person assessment. From that we produce an estimate and a Service Agreement before work begins, so the scope, the materials being removed and the cost are all agreed in writing first.
Containment
Biological threats spread quickly through a property on shoes, tools and air movement, and this is where a blood cleanup company earns its fee. Technicians isolate the affected area, establish controlled entry and exit routes, and run containment procedures that keep cross-contamination out of the rooms that are still clean.
Blood Removal and disposal
Contaminated surfaces, remains and saturated materials are removed, and we determine with you what can safely be salvaged. Everything else is sealed in biohazard containers and disposed of as medical waste in compliance with OSHA guidelines.
Disinfection and deodorization
Surfaces are cleaned and treated with EPA-approved disinfectants, then the air is dealt with separately, which is the step a bloodstain cleanup service cannot leave out. A HEPA filtration system captures particulate, air scrubbing machines remove what cannot be seen, and a hydroxyl machine neutralizes the odor compounds instead of covering them.
Final inspection
We finish with a detailed walk-through and ask you or your agent to sign off. For safety, nobody should be in the area during the work or for at least two hours afterwards.
Credentials, cost And Insurance
Bio Hazard Plus technicians hold IICRC remediation training, ongoing training in Blood or Other Potentially Infectious Material standards, Waste Management Practitioner certification and accreditation in the rigorous State of California Trauma Scene response program. The company carries an A+ rating with the California Better Business Bureau.
Price depends on the affected surface and how much material must be removed, which is why the work is quoted from evidence rather than over the phone. Most of this work is covered by homeowner, renter, automobile or commercial insurance, and we prepare the documentation your adjuster needs. If you are comparing a blood cleaning company on price alone, ask each one what happens to the waste after it leaves your property.
Â
Where the incident is part of a larger scene, a blood clean-up is rarely the whole job: we also handle bodily fluids, decomposition, trauma and hazmat work with one team.
FAQS
How quickly can a Team Reach me?
Typically within two hours, at any time of day or night. We operate 24/7 and arrive in unmarked vehicles for discretion. Call first and leave the area undisturbed: the less traffic through the affected space before we arrive, the smaller the area we have to treat and the lower the final cost.
Is The Room Safe Once The Visible Stain Is gone?
Not necessarily. Pathogens survive on dry surfaces and in materials under the flooring, so a clean-looking surface proves nothing on its own. We verify with ATP testing, which measures residual cellular activity, and we do not release an area until the reading is zero relative light units.
Can saturated carpet be saved?
Usually not. Where fluid has passed through into the padding, the professional method is to cut out and remove the affected section rather than attempt a surface treatment that cannot reach the contamination. We identify exactly what has to go before we remove anything, and we keep what can be kept.
Â
Who pays for the works?
In most cases the insurer. Homeowner, renter, automobile and commercial property policies commonly cover this type of remediation, subject to the individual policy. We itemize the scene, document what was removed and supply the paperwork for the claim, and we can deal with your carrier directly.
Â
Â
Do You Work With Police And Other Agencies?
Yes. We regularly work alongside law enforcement agencies,
fire departments, hospitals, morgues and property managers. Investigators
control the scene until they release it; once they do, we can begin
immediately, and we coordinate directly with the agency so nothing needed for
the investigation is disturbed.
